We are thrilled to announce that S1E, in partnership with McBreen Enviro UK, has been recognized at the UKSTT Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony on 2nd October at Tortworth Court Hotel, winning the “New Installation – Small Project (£70k – £350K)” award, sponsored by Prokasro.
This award celebrates companies playing a pivotal role in delivering successful new installations of cables, ducts, or pipelines using trenchless techniques - a category in which S1E proudly showcased its expertise.
The winning project involved a technically complex UV-CIPP lining installation at a live airport in the North West, where McBreen Enviro UK led the works and S1E supplied the high-performance SAERTEX Liner. The 95m-long sewer presented significant challenges, including a mid-length diameter transition from 900mm to 750mm and severe structural defects such as cracks, collapses, and displacements.
Working under restricted access, no-dig conditions, and stringent operational controls, the team at McBreen employed precision trenchless methods and a bespoke tapered liner to restore full structural integrity. Despite the complexity, the project was completed on time, within budget, and with zero disruption to airport operations - proving that trenchless technology remains the safest and most effective solution for high-risk, high-pressure environments.
