From discovering IBAK at an S1E demo day to investing in a fully equipped mobile system, Adler & Allan’s journey with S1E has helped strengthen their in-house remediation capabilities.
Adler & Allan’s relationship with IBAK began at an S1E demo day, where the team had the opportunity to see the IBAK systems in action and explore what they could offer their remediation operation.
Following the demonstration, Adler & Allan began hiring IBAK equipment from S1E’s hire fleet on an ongoing basis. Having used the systems across a number of jobs, the team were able to see how the technology performed in the environments they work in.
After experience with a number of systems on the market, Adler & Allan found that IBAK was their preferred solution, particularly for its adaptability and the range of applications it could support.
As their requirements developed, the team decided to invest in their own equipment.

Choosing the Right System
Working closely with S1E, Adler & Allan purchased an IBAK MainLite system and MicroGator 150 HD, giving the team their own dedicated inspection and cutting solution.
The MicroGator 150 HD was selected because of the range of pipe diameters Adler & Allan regularly work with, while the HD specification also helped to future-proof their investment.
Adaptability was another key consideration. The team purchased the full wheel range for the MicroGator 150, along with multiple cutting heads, allowing the system to be configured for different applications and pipe sizes.
Currently, the MicroGator is primarily being used for cutting applications, but its adaptable design means the team can expand its capabilities in the future, including the potential addition of camera equipment.
From Equipment to a Mobile Solution
With Adler & Allan operating nationwide, having a system that could be easily transported and deployed on site was essential.
S1E organised the fit-out of the Adler & Allan remediation van, creating a dedicated mobile setup for their IBAK equipment and accessories.
The investment was also supported directly by IBAK, with their team travelling from Germany to provide a training handover to Adler & Allan.
The completed van gives the remediation team a dedicated IBAK setup that can travel with them from project to project, and that investment has now been put to work on a major drainage rehabilitation project in West Yorkshire.

Tackling Ageing Drainage Infrastructure
A structural survey at a 24-hour production facility identified significant deterioration within the ageing underground drainage network, including multiple breaks across a number of sections.
With production continuing around the clock, the work needed to be completed promptly and with minimal disruption to the site.
The scale of the defects meant that a combination of repair methods was required, with the larger repair split into two stages. Significant patching was carried out in some areas, while structural lining was used on sections requiring a more comprehensive rehabilitation solution.
The Adler & Allan team used their IBAK MainLite and MicroGator 150 HD as part of the inspection and preparation works, with the MicroGator allowing the team to mechanically tackle the affected pipework using the appropriate wheels and cutting heads for the job.
The IBAK equipment was supported by a Picote Maxi Miller, Cyclone chains and sand panels for pipe preparation, while Magnavity and BRAWOLINER® systems were used for structural rehabilitation where required.
The combination allowed the team to tackle multiple defects using the most appropriate trenchless solution for each section of the network.

Keeping a Critical Site on Track
The project commenced on 10 August 2026 and was scheduled to be completed within two weeks.
With the significant patching requirements addressed promptly and the remaining sections progressing through the lining stage, the team is currently on track to complete the project within the planned timeframe.
For a live 24-hour production facility, the ability to carry out the works using trenchless methods has helped minimise the disruption that would have been associated with traditional excavation.

A Partnership That Has Grown
For Adler & Allan, the move from hiring equipment to investing in their own IBAK system has been about developing their capabilities for the long term.
The company chose S1E because of the range of trenchless products available, competitive pricing and the technical support provided by the S1E team.
“S1E has a great range of trenchless products at competitive prices, but the technical support from the team makes a huge difference too. With this support and collaboration, it has led our team to flourish, not only in their personal growth but in enhancing what we can offer as a team.”
– Mark Scott, Adler & Allan
From the initial IBAK demo day and subsequent hires to purchasing, van fitting and training, S1E has supported Adler & Allan throughout their IBAK journey.
This latest West Yorkshire project is a strong example of that journey in action, putting their IBAK MainLite and MicroGator 150 HD to work alongside Picote preparation equipment, patch repairs and structural lining to tackle a complex drainage rehabilitation project efficiently.
